Yvonne Zipter
Yvonne Zipter is a poet and journalist, having written frequently for her
“Inside Out” column in Outlines , and having published the
following books:
Ransacking the Closet (Spinsters Ink, 1995),
The Patience of Metal (Hutchinson House, 1990), and
Diamonds Are a Dyke’s Best Friend (Firebrand Books, 1988).
She is the recipient of the Sprague-Todes Literary Award (1997)
and an Illinois Arts Council Finalist Award (1991).
Her poetry has appeared in the eleventh MUSE (1996), modern words (1995), Willow
Review (1994), and Columbia Poetry Review (1994).
Zipter has also taught literary composition at the Ragdale Foundation (Lake Forest IL),
and at the University of Chicago, Graham School of General Studies.
